Dude, there are very, very few bands that are closer to my heart than Gorilla Biscuits. Seriously probably the greatest hardcore band to come out of NY...sorry SOIA. When I was a kid growing up we used to go to Lake Powell every year with the Adams and the two longest held traditions of those trips were stealing one of the girls cameras to take all sorts of pictures of our bare asses and the second was a yearly Gorilla Biscuits lip sync on the houseboat.
This is probably the only other band that comes close. Ian is seriously the man and I love any band that he's pretty well been associated with Egg Hunt, The Evens, and of course the mighty Fugazi.
Gorrila biscuits, Civ and the boys did it right way back then. Still not many bands since then that had this much good going on! Sxe hardcore would never touch these early bands, at least in my eyes.
